ராஷ்ட்ரிய ஸ்வயம்சேவக் சங்கம் 1925 ஆம் ஆண்டு விஜயதசமி நாளில் டாக்டர் கேசவ் பலிராம் ஹெட்கேவாரால் தொடங்கப்பட்டது, அவர் தொழில் ரீதியாக ஒரு மருத்துவராக இருந்தார், ஆனால் அவர் தனது முழு வாழ்க்கையையும் பாரத மாதாவின் சேவையில் தியாகம் செய்ய முடிவு செய்தார்.

டாக்டர் ஹெட்கேவார் 1889 ஆம் ஆண்டு மகாராஷ்டிராவில் உள்ள நாக்பூரில் கடவுள் பயமுள்ள மற்றும் தேசபக்தியுள்ள குடும்பத்தில் பிறந்தார். அவர் தனது குழந்தை பருவத்திலிருந்தே ஒரு தேசபக்தராக இருந்தார் மற்றும் இந்தியாவில் பிரிட்டிஷ் ஆட்சியை வெறுத்தார். அவர் ஆங்கிலேயர்களை இந்தியாவிலிருந்து வெளியேற்ற விரும்பினார், அந்த திசையில் திட்டமிட்டார். அவர் அனுசீலன் சமிதியின் உறுப்பினராக இருந்தார். அக்கினி பேச்சாளராகவும் இருந்தார். அது ஸ்ரீ. ஹெட்கேவார், 'ஸ்வயம்சேவக்' அதாவது 'சுய தன்னார்வலர்' என்ற எண்ணத்துடன் வந்தவர். எனவே, ஆர்எஸ்எஸ் என்பது ஒரு தனித்துவமான சமூக மற்றும் கலாச்சார அமைப்பாகும், இது 'ஸ்வயம்சேவகர்களால்' ஆனது, அவர்கள் தங்கள் சொந்த விருப்பத்தின் மூலம் நமது தேசத்தை கட்டியெழுப்புவதில் பங்களிக்க விரும்புகிறார்கள். இதில் பண எதிர்பார்ப்பு அல்லது மற்ற எந்த எதிர்பார்ப்பு எதுவும் இல்லை.

நமது இந்துத்துவா அடையாளத்தைத் தக்க வைத்துக் கொண்டு, தன்னிறைவு பெற்ற பாரதத்தை உருவாக்குவதே ஆர்எஸ்எஸ்ஸின் முக்கிய நோக்கமாகும். 'இந்துத்வா' என்றால் பாரத மாதாவுக்கு விசுவாசமாக இருப்பது மற்றும் அனைத்தையும் அரவணைத்து செல்வது.

ஆர்எஸ்எஸ் ஒரு சிறந்த சமூக-கலாச்சார அமைப்பாகும், இது தேசிய பேரிடர் சூழ்நிலைகளின் போதும், நமது பாரதம் மோசமான காலங்களில் செல்லும் போதெல்லாம் சேவை செய்கிறது.

நமது பாரதம் விஸ்வகுருவாக வேண்டும் என்று ஆர்எஸ்எஸ் விரும்புகிறது. ஆர்எஸ்எஸ் இந்துத்துவ தத்துவம், பல்வேறு மதங்கள் மற்றும் சாதிகளுக்கு இடையே நல்லுறவு மற்றும் ஜாதி பாகுபாடு இல்லாத  பாரதத்தை விரும்புகிறது.

டாக்டர் ஹெட்கேவார் தனது முழு வாழ்க்கையையும் நமது தேசத்தின் சேவையில் தியாகம் செய்தார். தார்மீக விழுமியங்கள், தேசபக்தி, ஒழுக்கம், பணமாக்கப்படாத மதிப்பு அமைப்பு, தியாக உணர்வு ஆகியவற்றைப் புகுத்துவதற்கு, குறைந்தபட்சம் ஒரு மணிநேரத்திற்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட இடத்தில் தினசரி ஒன்றுகூடிச் செல்வதற்கு, 'ஷாகா' என்ற கருத்துகளை அவர் வழங்கினார்.

சங்கத்திற்கான தனது செயல்பாடுகளுக்கு ஸ்வயம்சேவக் மூலம் பாக்கெட்டில் இருந்து பணம் செலுத்தும் யோசனையையும் அவர் நிறுவினார்.

அநாமதேய பங்களிப்புகளின் யோசனையையும் அவர் அறிமுகப்படுத்தினார்.

ஆர்எஸ்எஸ் எந்தவொரு தனிநபரையோ அல்லது ஆளுமையையோ தேர்ந்தெடுக்காமல், ஒரு சின்னமான 'தி த்வஜ்' காவிக்கொடி என்ற குரு ஸ்தானத்தை ஏற்படுத்தி இருக்கிறது.

ஷாகா என்பது ஆர்.எஸ்.எஸ்ஸின் பொது முகமாகும். இங்கு தினமும் ஒரு மணி நேரம்  சில பேர் கூடும் இடம். ஷாகாவின் முக்கிய செயல்பாடுகளில் உடல் பயிற்சிகள், தேசபக்தி பாடல்கள் பாடுதல் மற்றும் சமூக பிரச்சனைகளை விவாதித்தல் போன்றவை அடங்கும். பாரத பக்தி ஸ்தோத்திரம் உள்ளது, இது ஒவ்வொரு சந்திப்பிலும் பாடப்படுகிறது. இந்தியா முழுவதும் 50,000க்கும் மேற்பட்ட ஷாகாக்கள் உள்ளன. கேரளாவில் 'ஷாகாக்கள்' அதிக அடர்த்தி உள்ளது.

ஆர்.எஸ்.எஸ்ஸின் முக்கியப் பொறுப்பில் இருப்பவர் சர்சங்கசாலக். ஸ்ரீ.டாக்டர் ஹெட்கேவாருக்குப் பிறகு இரண்டாவது சர்சங்சாலக் ஸ்ரீ.கோல்வால்கர் ஜி. அவர் 'குருஜி' என்று அன்புடன் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார். அவர் முப்பத்து மூன்று ஆண்டுகள் சர்சங்சாலக் பொறுப்பை வகித்தார். 

ஆர்எஸ்எஸ்ஸின் 6 முக்கிய பண்டிகைகள் உள்ளன - வர்ஷ் பிரதிபதா, இந்து சாம்ராஜ்ய தீன், குரு பூஜான், ரக்ஷா பந்தன், விஜயதசமி மற்றும் மகர சங்கராந்தி.

எனவே, இந்த அமைப்பின் போற்றத்தக்க சித்தாந்தம் என்னவென்றால், அது தேசத்தை முதன்மையாகவும், குடும்பத்தை இரண்டாவதாகவும், தனிமனிதனை முக்கியத்துவத்தில் கடைசியாகவும் வைக்கிறது.

RSS stands for Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh! 

Let us understand the history of RSS 

    The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh was started on Vijayadasami day in 1925 by Dr.Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, who was a doctor by profession but who had decided to sacrifice his entire life in the service of Bharat Mata. 

  Dr.Hedgewar was born in a God fearing and Patriotic family in Nagpur in Maharashtra in 1889. He was a patriot since his childhood and detested the British rule in India. He wanted to throw out the British out of India and planned in that direction. He was a member of the Anushilan Samiti (a freedom movement) . He was also a Fiery Speaker. It was Shri. Hedgewar, who came with the idea of 'Swayamsevak', which means 'Self-Volunteer'. Thus, the RSS is a very unique social and cultural organisation made up of 'swayamsevaks', who want to contribute to our nation building out of their own free will. There is no monetary expectation or 'quid-pro-quo' involved. 

  The main aim of RSS is the building of a self-sufficient  Bharat, while retaining our Hindutva Identity. 'Hindutva' means being loyal to Bharat Mata and inclusiveness. 

RSS is a great socio-cultural organisation, which renders service during national disaster situations and whenever our Bharat goes through bad times. 

RSS wants our Bharat to become Vishwaguru, like earlier times, amity amongst various religions and castes and non caste-discrimination. 

Dr. Hedgewar sacrificed his entire life in the service of our nation. He gave the concepts of 'Shakha' - Daily get together at a chosen place for a minimum of one hour period to instill a sense of moral values, patriotism, discipline, inculcating non-monetised value system, spirit of sacrifice and to work as a Team. 

RSS also established the idea of paying out of the pocket by the Swayamsevak himself for his activities for the Sangh. 

RSS also introduced the idea of anonymous contributions. 

RSS also gave the concept of not choosing any individual or personality but a symbol, 'The Dwaj' (Mouna Guru) . 

The Shakha is the Public Face of R.S.S. This is the place, where few people gather together everyday for an hour. The main activities in a Shakha include Physical drills, singing Patriotic songs and discussing social issues etc. There is a Bharat Bhakti Stotram, which is sung at every meet. There are more than 50,000 shakhas all over India. Kerala has the highest density of 'shakhas'. 

The Top Most responsibility in the RSS is held by the Sarsanghchalak. The second Sarsanghchalak after Shri.Dr.Hedgewar was Shri.Golwalkar ji. He is fondly referred to as 'Guruji'. He held the responsibility of Sarsanghchalak for thirty-three years.

  There are 6 main festivals of RSS - Varsh Pratipadaa, Hindu Samrajya Dhin, Guru Poojan, Raksha Bandhan, Vijayadasami and Makara Sankranti. 

Thus, the admirable ideology of the Organisation is that it puts the Nation first, the Family second and the Individual as the last in significance 🔥🙏🪷🔥🙏🪷
