Congratulations Bharat! ЁЯЗоЁЯЗ│
Effective from 1st July , the New Bharatiya Justice Laws have now replaced the Abrahmic Criminal Laws of "India".
⚡️The three new criminal laws - the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam -- will replace the British-era Indian Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and Indian Evidence Act, respectively, will come into effect from July 1, 2024
What are Ground Breaking changes which will overhaul system to bring JUSTICE with LAW, which was missing since 1947?
ЁЯФЖZero FIR: Allowing people to file an FIR at any police station, regardless of jurisdiction
ЁЯФЖOnline registration of police complaints & electronic service of summons.
ЁЯФЖMandatory videography of crime scenes for all heinous crimes to strengthen investigations.
ЁЯФЖSummons can be served electronically
ЁЯФЖFaster justice delivery, with judgments required within 45 days of trial completion & charges framed within 60 days of 1st hearing
ЁЯФЖReduction in number of sections from 511 in IPC to 358 in Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
ЁЯФЖDefinition of Terrorism for 1st time to include "Economic Security" of the Nation.
ЁЯФЖMerging of overlapping sections and simplification of language.
ЁЯФЖNew provisions to address emerging crimes like false promise of marriage, gang rape of minors & mob lynching.
ЁЯФЖGender Neutral Laws. No favouritism to Women Complaints. Will reduce false cases
ЁЯФЖSensitive handling of crimes against women & children! Recording victim statements by women officers. Faster medical reports.
ЁЯФЖ"Terrorism" will include "DISTURB PUBLIC ORDER" or "DESTABILISE NATION"
ЁЯФЖ"Love Jihad" officially recognised as luring anyone by hiding real identity or with deceptive identity.
ЁЯФЖCommunity Service as punishment introduced.
Law is from prospective effect
Overall, the 3 laws aim to prioritise justice & fairness over just punishment, with Bharatiya ethos, as opposed to colonial-era laws
Congratulations again, Bharat.
