*It was supposed to be a day of celebration, but fate had something else in store.*

*1. Dr. Vijay Deshmukh,* a sensitive doctor from King George Medical College, Lucknow, who had left comfortable medical practice and chosen the difficult path of civil service. He had been preparing for this exam in Delhi for the last three years.

*2. Sanjay Ahluwalia,* a graduate in Electrical Engineering from IIT Delhi, who had come out of the streets of Muzaffarnagar and dreamt of civil service. He too had been preparing by staying in Mukherjee Nagar for three years.

*3. Barkha Singh:,* a former student of Lady Shriram College — whose face and eyes had a destination of determination. She had been preparing for IAS for six years. And

*4. Chandana Mukherjee,* a deep-thinking, balanced, calm girl from Presidency College, Kolkata, she too had been preparing in Delhi for three years.

 ⛩️ All four of them did hard academic work in the classrooms of Vajiram IAS Academy, amidst struggles and dreams. In friendship, they supported each other in every test, every mock interview, every moment of self-doubt. 

*15–17 April 2025 —* 

The day of UPSC Personality Test. Nervous smiles, formal clothes, beating hearts. One by one they entered the grand building of Dholpur House. And one by one they came out of the interview *.......with great expectations.*

To get rid of the stress of years,

they made their long-thought plan a reality — 

*"A journey towards Kashmir."*

*18 April 2025 — The four friends reached Srinagar.*

There was the fragrance of spring in the air. The rays of the morning were shimmering on Dal Lake. Sitting in a Shikara, drinking Kahwa, they got lost in the lanes of Mughal Garden.  They laughed like children in the snow in Gulmarg. They rode the gondola to the highest point in the world — 🙄 oblivious to the storm that awaited them across the valley. 

*22 April, they reached Pahalgam.* 🥵🤐

It was the day they were supposed to celebrate their freedom and dreams — *the day the Civil Services results were to be declared.* They roamed the valleys, danced on the banks of the Lidder river, clicked many pictures. *😢 But.... at 2:15 pm, everything changed.*

People screamed. Blood flowed. There was chaos everywhere. *👺 "The terrorists were asking for names and religions and then firing bullets."*

Panic!  So, the four friends ran for their lives. They found a Maruti van, paid ₹10,000 and begged the driver - *"Take us anywhere, just away from here."*

😎 The van driver was from the same village, crossed the valleys and dropped them off *near Anantnag, very close to the Pakistan border.*

And then what happened,

*which shocked everyone.*

*At 4:50 pm, Pakistani soldiers mistook them for infiltrators and captured them.*

🇮🇳 The same day, at 3:03 pm, the *UPSC 2025 results were declared.* And guess what?

*Vijay: Rank 67*

*Sanjay: Rank 71*

*Barkha: Rank 61*

*Chandana: Rank 73*

🤔Screens across India lit up with these names - but the four were locked up, unbeknownst to them, in a jail in Anantnag on Pakistan side.  🙌 

*In Delhi,* families saw the results. They made phone calls, found out > the children were missing. Searches were conducted, reports were filed, a few days later, *a plea was made to the Home Ministry:*

*_"Our children are missing They have cleared the civil services.  Please find them."_*

*💥 Now let's move on to Modi's New India:*

In response, India went into a counter-terrorism campaign.

Indian DGMO launched covert missions. Sleeper cells were eliminated. Intelligence was alerted.

Tensions with Pakistan increased. Flames were seen on the border. Air strikes were carried out across the LoC.

*10 May 2025, 5:00 PM IST*

— Pakistani DGMO requested a ceasefire.

✅ During the talks, the new *Indian Army Chief* raised the issue of the *four missing youths.*

👍After a long search and international pressure, *it was confirmed on 13 May:*

*All four were alive — in a jail near Anantnag post in Pakistan.*

*16 May 2025 — An Indian delegation met them.*

*📰 "They were given a copy of "The Hindu" newspaper — dated 22 April 2025."*

*👌🏼In a prison cell,*

*They celebrated the biggest victory of their lives.*

*After completing all the legal procedures immediately and due to international pressure, the Pakistani government had to allow their release.*

*18 May 2025:*

The *four stars* crossed the Wagah border and *came under the protection of the Indian Army.*

👌*They will become collectors – not just with degrees and ranks, but...............

*.......With a story – of struggle, patriotism, government and destiny. They would always remember that Mother India ran and came for their rescue and that, they owe their lives to Mother India.*

*🇮🇳 History has also been created by this incident.*

This is the same India which could never bring back its soldiers in exchange for releasing 93,000 Pakistani prisoners.

This is the same India which had to release terrorists in exchange for freeing plane hijackers.

This is the same India whose army with its hands tied used to face stones thrown by terrorists.  .
